Topogó & Ispiláng Youth Folk Dance Groups in Italy

The two youth groups of the Nyírség UP, the Topogó and the Ispiláng Dance Ensembles performed as a guest at an international folk dance festival in Penna Sant’Andrea, Italy, from July 31 to August 7, 2019.

The long journey did not discourage anyone from having a great time at the event, which featured six nations (American, Argentinian, South African, Ecuadorian, Hungarian, Italian), where VLAMI students always won the hearts of local Italian spectators at evening shows. The music was provided by the Bakos Band.

In addition to the obligatory programs, we had time to relax, as we were able to visit the beach of Roseto Degli Abruzzi twice, where the beautiful sea and the sun-shined sand gave us an eye-catching sight.

At the end of the festival, we headed home with a bike won at the local raffle. On the way, we stopped for a wonderful sightseeing tour of Venice. From Piazzale Roma, we walked through the Ponte di Rialto to St. Mark’s Square and back.

We took pizzas, took photos, bought them, and all along we admired the canals, bridges, squares, and atmosphere of this beautiful, special city.

We are grateful for your hospitality, Italy!
